Performance might be slow when you write output to an RTF file using the ODS RTF statement with the second maintenance release of SAS 9.4 (TS1M2). This issue can occur when you use any SAS^® procedure that writes report output to RTF, such as PROC PRINT and PROC REPORT. In certain situations, a program that takes seconds to run with an earlier release of SAS might take several minutes with SAS 9.4 TS1M2 in Windows operating environments.

To circumvent the problem, add the following OPTIONS statement to the top of your code before the initial ODS RTF statement:

options nofontembedding;

The use of this system option does not adversely affect the resulting RTF output.
